Wanna read my siggy so you can have more "lin(2) gan(3)"?Originally posted by foga:love dun promise u anything.
love means compromising, giving and accepting the person just the way they are.

A couple of months ago a girl confessed to me that she has a crush on me. I was honestly taking a shine to her, but I didn't quite share the same sentiments. Still, I asked her to give me time to get to know her better before making a decision.
After some time passed I was becoming more and more fond of her, but eventually she told me to simply forget about going after her. Apparently she had a really difficult time with her previous relationship, and she feared that I would end up like her former lover - cheating, abusive, uncaring.
Oh well. The story of my life....

I liked simply because I liked her character. Sweet, extroverted, caring, understanding... she pretty much had everything I was looking for in a girl. I was more than willing to accept her for who she is, so long as she can accept me for who I am.Originally posted by foga:hmmm...
just curious, do you like her becasue you really like her or because she was the only choice?
love is about giving and accepting that person for who she/he is. Love is not charity...

However, in the end she decided that she's simply too traumatised by her past experiences to fully trust guys anymore. I told her that I was willing to wait for her to get over her feelings of hurt, but she told me not to wait for her.
Oh well. Some said that I should simply have gone for her when she confessed to me, but I didn't want to rush into a relationship when I wasn't sure of my own feelings for her. I may not be experienced in these things, but I do know for a fact that rushed relationships are mostly doomed to fail. The last thing I want is to be the cause of even more pain to her.
I don't believe I did anything wrong by wanting to take things slow and sure. What do you guys think?
If she had given me a chance to prove myself and be sure of my own feelings for her, it might seriously have worked. But it failed before it started, and now it's just another curious anecdote in the long and convoluted story of my life.

And no, she wasn't the only choice I had. I just felt that she was the best choice.

I forgot to add one more ingredient. Noe her more as a FRIEND. Dat simple. no other things involved.Originally posted by fudgester:As I already mentioned in a previous post, I was taking the time to get to know her better.
It was later on when she decided to reject me for fear that I would ill-treat her.

I suppose she probably IS busy... but more likely, she's just avoiding me.
