I have been single for about 1yr 8months now. And my relationship which lasted for 3 years has really taught me valuable lessons till I am "afraid" of getting into a relationship anymore.
That is why I have been single I guess. That is why I have wipe off the intention of getting married to anyone in the future.
In short, I do not miss being in love. I do think about it. But certainly ain't hoping or wanting it.

A couple of months ago a girl confessed to me that she has a crush on me. I was honestly taking a shine to her, but I didn't quite share the same sentiments. Still, I asked her to give me time to get to know her better before making a decision.
After some time passed I was becoming more and more fond of her, but eventually she told me to simply forget about going after her. Apparently she had a really difficult time with her previous relationship, and she feared that I would end up like her former lover - cheating, abusive, uncaring.
Oh well. The story of my life.... -

I already did my best to show her that I'm not like her ex. In fact, she does believe me when I say that it's not in my nature to intentionally hurt others, she told me directly that she does indeed trust me to not hurt her.Originally posted by alexkusu:go after her

However, in the end she decided that she's simply too traumatised by her past experiences to fully trust guys anymore. I told her that I was willing to wait for her to get over her feelings of hurt, but she told me not to wait for her.
Oh well. Some said that I should simply have gone for her when she confessed to me, but I didn't want to rush into a relationship when I wasn't sure of my own feelings for her. I may not be experienced in these things, but I do know for a fact that rushed relationships are mostly doomed to fail. The last thing I want is to be the cause of even more pain to her.
I don't believe I did anything wrong by wanting to take things slow and sure. What do you guys think?
If she had given me a chance to prove myself and be sure of my own feelings for her, it might seriously have worked. But it failed before it started, and now it's just another curious anecdote in the long and convoluted story of my life.
