Why AE86 is the king of AKINA no WRX Type-R ????????

  It's an anime right? And a japanese one too. So the hero must always have the worst equipment but will always have the best master/teacher and therefore the best skill. Heh, Tak is the hero but his father is supposed to be the best in the story. So I guess the AE86 can be good because Bunta knew what he was doing for the car. Besides I think Bunta knows he's the best so he's got nothing to prove. So he just drives his Type R half heartedly.
  
  Kind of makes you think, how fast Tak can go if he gets a better car.
