  Yeah this 'misfiring' system does perform as you said but the downside is that it wears out the turbocharger pretty fast. Even more so if you abuse the ALS.
  
  Oh and depending on who you talk to, some people would regard this ALS as actually misfiring since that is what is happening. The thing is that it is a controlled and deliberate misfire so some would regard it as part of the system. Best is to call it 'Bang Bang'.

  NA- Normally Aspirated. No forced induction used.
