Hmm.. Thurs i try with my cars 4 usui...(my hachi-go comes into mind
) i'll use all my cars except my R32 and kopi car cos those 2 cars no pt as one of them is nt tt fast as nt tuned and another one i dun feel confident... I'll be goin 2 suntec 2 play... most prob. during evening -
Fastest I have seen is 2"47. DC2 doesn't like Usui. I think it's due to Usui's long gradual turns, not like Iro or Happo. The key area where most people lose time at is the 2 turns. The bigger turn can be cleared either way at 180 (can be higher a bit) and the smaller one can be cleared either way at 170 (I also buang here, still cannot get 170+ all the time). The curve with the grandstand is also very gradual, go a few times should be able to get the hang of it, GC8V can go about 185 and still accelerating. -

Oh BTW that was my AE86....but impreza acceleration off the line is very fast....But i tried the GC8v today... no diff frm ym GC8 leh... mayb am i nt tt good to tell the diff in performance and handling??? Going in the direction when you race against the Capp, the first turn can be taken at 175+, the next long and gradual turn with the grandstand on the right can be taken at 190+ and the last turn is 185+. For wet, same direction, first turn is 165, second is 180+ and last one is 170+. Of course I'm talking about the GC8V, the GC8 should be able to turn at these speeds as well.
As for the 2 cars being similar, yes they are. The difference is that the GC8V has a STi sticker. This means it has been tuned for rally races by the Subaru Technica International team. But then someone (in another post) said that Bunta was pretty careful (miserly?) with money, so did he get his car tuned by STi (going to be very expensive) or did he do it himself and just stick that sticker? And where did he get the sticker? Makes you wonder, is Bunta better than the whole STi team? -

Since GC8V has been tuned by STi, it's supposed to have better acceleration than GC8.
Also one more difference between GC8 and GC8V. In real life GC8V is slightly lower than GC8. Not sure if in the game it's also like that. If the difference is there, then GC8V will be able to turn better than GC8. -

Oh I didn't realise that the WRX STi comes in a coupe version in real life. All the WRX STi I've seen so far are 4 doors. As for the GC8V in the game, I don't really remember whether it is 2 or 4 door. yea... THe sound of rumbling by gc8v.. TATS the spirit... But i still prefer FD.. tat vacuum cleaner sound.. hehe...
Nw it seems tat this topic has turned from subaru into Usui... well to conquer Usui, u need to keep as close to the inner lane which allows u to take on a mild corner at a shorter distance( imagine taking the outer lane and u will be travelling at a longer distance)
Practise out in out to tackle corners lyk the first and 3rd hairpin of usui.. Tis way u can exit a corner faster..
If u still can't master out in out, overcome ur fear of braking earlier.. braking earlier can help u to unleash out in out... 1 more way of mastering this out in out is by using dc2... b4 i used dc2, my timing in akina for my fd is abt 3"06 and tats hell slow... after i use dc2, dc2 made me realise tat importance of out in out and i gt a 3min for my fd in akina...
ALthough all of ur sae tat dc2 is a "jian" car but it helps u to develop u skills in IDAS and ur timing..
Tips for Usui left Direction...
For 1st lap
First corner: slowly turn ur steering wheel to the right and when u reach the inner wall turn ur steering wheel to the max.. U shld be able to clear the corner at 160++
2nd corner: I tink tat is c121 if i'm nt wrong. turn ur steering wheel in half a turn to allow the car to slide past the wall. This will allow ur car to drift and clear the c121 wif no trouble.. Do countersteer quik to prevent ur car from knocking into the wall.. AS for lighter cars lyk dc2, u have to release ur accelerator abit to avoid knocking into the outer wall..
3rd corner: the tightest corner here in usui... When u r on the straight road, brake heavily and start turning ur steering wheel to a half turn and let it glide past the inner wall. Dun brake until speed 150++.. Brake until 168-173 and when ur car has glide past the inner wall, turn ur steering wheel to the max... Tis will allow u to clear it easily.. AS for dc2 and other lighter cars, u have to brake excessively to a speed 160-165...
2nd lap
1st corner: Use the same technique but tis time u have to release ur accelerator until to speed 183.. For Lighter cars lyk dc2, u have to release ur accelerator until a speed of i think 176-179..
2nd corner: refer up there
3rd corner: refer up there..
The reasons why lighter cars have special speed limits is becos lighter cars tend to drift outwards as the car backside is light.. Heavy cars lyk FD, GTRs, dey have a heavy mass tat prevents them to drift outwards.. but heavy cars die in the last 2 maps...
