Ducati Corse will reveal their MotoGP 4 stroke engine on Monday 4th February. The presentation will finally uncover one of the factory's best kept secrets, having refused to reveal any details about their new engine since announcing their intention to compete in the World Championship in May last year.
The announcement comes after endless speculation as to what the Bologna designers have chosen the final configuration to be, with Ducati set to decide between the world beating L-shaped twin and a new cylinder configuration altogether. All will become clear on Monday, when the factory announce development plans for the machine they plan to run in the MotoGP World Championship.
Ducati announced their intention to join the competition at the Gran Premio Marlboro de España in Jerez, where Ducati Corse Director Claudio Domenicali and Motor Holdings President Federico Minoli explained their decision to build a 4 stroke prototype at a cost of some USD 30 million and an annual running cost of USD 10 million.
