Committment of Players.....Moving On

Judging from the game yesterday, I must say it was kinda of discouraging to see the committment of some of our players. Nevertheless, I am in view to move on.
I have decided that we should stop calling Wan. For Ian, I can't really accept the fact that he contacted Khairul at 4.30pm to say that he is not coming. My point is that if any one of you cannot come, it's fine with me but early warning and notification will be good or should I say, required. I can empathise with the parent's issue but he could have told us that there is a possibility that he may not make it. At least, we can cater to some backup plan. Juz like Robin and Alfred, I do not expect a 2nd time from Ian. I am not sure who can talk to him but I hope I can leave the task to both Khairul and Baracuda.
As for Boon and Alvin, I am very glad that they came down for the game despite the wet weather. However, judging from their response, I am not sure if they are willing to commit. I do not want to force them. I am doubtful about their decision. As for the rest, I have decided to let them come to us for their decision
Despite the few mentioned above, I feel that we should move on to get the team going. Russ, I need you to check with Cheng if he is available to commit to our team. His team comprises of mostly Malays so I think it's a good time to call him down for our games since it's fasting month. I am also looking at sourcing for additional players from my side, from Charle's contacts and also Khairul's contacts.

I am targeting to reach a decision by latest, early next week. I hope to purchase the jerseys before our next game which is possibly on 17 Nov. Pls feedback if you think it's too early. In the meantime, pls collate sizes from your contacts (Pls see the the list of contacts under you from the list above).
I am also thinking of purchasing about 3-5 extra tops to be kept for contingency purposes. The cost can be split among the working class - Alfred, Charles, Russ, Myself, Patrick, Alvin, Jimmy, possibly Damien and Lawrence. Comments?

As far as the team is concerned, I think it'll be good if we can all make it a practice to arrive half an hour before a match. This will allow us sufficient time to change, warm-up and discuss tactics or specific roles for the match. After the match, I think it will also be good for the entire team to sit down for another 15 mins, to give their frank views on the game. And I'm not talking about "you played well... he played well... sorry I didn't play too well!"
I don't mean to make everything sound so serious, but I just felt that it will be good for a new team like ours to have such a practice.

By the way, people, pls remember to check the commitment and sizes of the players under your charge. Apparently, we would have to collect cash first as there will be extra charge if we sign for it. I have checked out the cost of the extra top and it is $23/- each. Pls help to decide on the number of extras to purchase.

Ahem! I am a student and I am not richer than you. I don't mind contributing to the additional jerseys if it is really needed.
I know its a cash payment deal but we may not be able to collect the money on time or some of us may not be able to cough up the money immediately (income earners and students alike). Is arrangement being made for someone to pay for the balance? -
I agree that the team should be punctual and that we should have after match discussions on the match and what we can do to improve our play........i feel that we are still not as united as a real team should be!!!!!

Yup, but I think we're getting there. There's already a big difference compared to the 1st time we played together. Good news
1. I spoke to Ah Boon today. Both him and Alvin Chia have given their commitment to our team. Let's welcome our 2 new committed players.
2. We have a game c onfirmed on 17 Nov @ 0900hrs, at our "homeground.
3. We should be having 2 new "guests" (1 keeper & 1 defender) from Charles contacts joining us for our next match on 17 Nov.
4. We will be ordering our new set of jerseys on Tues nite. Should be collecting them before our game on 17 Nov.
5. I have spoken to Ian personally and apparently, he had some unforeseen situation in his family on the day of the last game. I have advised him accordingly and such incidents will not be repeated again.
Bad news
1. Spoke to Chester, his injuries are quite bad.
Won't be playing in the near future till his leg is fully recovered and has gained strength. Let's keep him in our prayers that he recovers soon.
2. Where is our dear Khairul?? Cannot contact him.....no response in here.......nobody have seen him!!!

I have just opened up an organiser to keep the records of everything (contacts for teams, collection of money, player's records) since we are seriously starting this thing going. Our track record for the team shall start from this Sun's game also....which means to say, we will start afresh this Sun and I will keep a record of all our performance.

On a more serious note, I think we need to keep a lookout for another left sided player who can commit to our team. That will give us more options and depth in case of injuries. -

Really glad to see that everybody likes the jerseys. Only feedback is that the shorts are quite small. I have decided not to change Damien's shorts from M to L. Better big than too small.
