Couple Team Bowling Competition

i decided to start a new topic so that we can get this discussion going.
i would like to comment that what terence has suggested is really a good idea, as the pinstrikers are mainly made up of couples. this is something new from the league and playoff games that we always have. sometimes we need to have this kind of fun to liven things up. we can even get alfred and rena back for this.
terence has started the ball rolling for sponsoring cash for the event (so generous
) we should also think of other prizes to add spice to the event. i think it will good if each couple will contribute some cash and let the prize secretary, (russ 
) to settle the rest. -

I'm proposing that the $100 provided by Terence be the top prize for the winning couple, while the remaining contributions will be used to provide other prizes as well (e.g. highest game, most number of consecutive strikes, etc). I promise the prizes will not include any Liverpool FC souvenirs...

I'm fine with the suggestion. Maybe we can make it a yearly event during Christmas Time?? We can name it "The Christmas Roll" or something like that....saw Victor's having such tournament during Christmas period.

Where did our Competition Director go to?? VHK, your comments? Could you also confirm if this will take place before, after, or during the league break?

Yes i am here.......First of all........if there are no objections from anyone, I would like to make it a quarterly event just the same as the league and championship.Reasons? So that friends like rick and jasmine, alfred and rena can have a get together session which i think 3 months once sound a good duration. Moreover for associate members like Kai and Evelyn and other new upcoming members(who bowl frequently), there is something for them to look forward to and also to keep the engine running after the first participation. I m sure everyone feel that the "Pinstrikers championship" schedule is nicely even out throughout the year and hence I would like have the "couple championship" to be the same.
Mean while, I am trying to plan for other events like 9-pin tap tournament, skin competition etc etc to make the work year for "Pinstrikers team", a more interesting and memorable one and also to make it possible for all levels of bowlers to find it comfortable and welcome to join "Pinstrikers" even if they are not hardcore bowlers. -

Well, we can just invite them... VHK, so when exactly are you proposing the competition to be?? Must start to collect money dah.... Its opened only to all of Social, Associate and competitive members. As long as one of the couple is a members of "Pinstrikers". E.g Lets say we have a new Guy (Daniel) who joined "Pinstrikers" in whichever level of membership and not his girlfriend. So in order to join the "couple competition", he must have his girlfriend to team up with him. So Daniel is allow to get his girlfriend to bowl with him only for the "couple competition even if she is not a member of any sort. It is not opened to public.
Reference to Shadow question, I would propose the competition to be held the immediate following week at the end of the season. Then a week break before the "Pinstrikers championship" take place. The "Couple tag-Team Competition" is also a good way to end the season while both couple can interact and bowl together unlike normal days when the guys and gals bowled separately.
Regarding the prize money......As this is the first opening of the new "Couple tag-team Competition", I will be sponsoring a prize money of $100. How will the money be allocated to what kind of prizes should be discussed between the Prize Secretary and the treasurer. If Prize Secretary feel that $100 is not quite enough, then treasurer may collect more from the members as required. Its all in the hand of the Prize Secretary to decide if the treasurer need to collect more money. -
Hmmm... Actually I have a few concerns regarding the prizes... Best if we discuss this on Sat or Sun...

b. The top prize will be given to the couple with the highest total score.
c. There will also be a prize for the couple with the most number of consecutive spares.
d. Tokens of $5 will be given to every couple who achieve a score of 180 pinfalls and above in one game.
While I'll be looking out for the prizes in the next couple of weeks, feel free to give your suggestions, if any. -

Brothers, I think we missed out on something.....Who is notifying and inviting the other couples. I dun think even Troy and Evelyn knows about it. Cos' if they are keen, then we will collect $10/- from each couple. That goes the same for the remaining couple like Alfred/Rena & Rick/Jasmine. More people more fun, wat do you guys think?? Currently, I only have $130/- from the 4 of us.

I don't know about you guys but I don't know whether to view this competition in anticipation or apprehension

Welcome Ladies and Gentleman,
Pinstrikers willl be hosting its first "Couple Tag Team bowling Tournment" tomorrow - 15/9/02 .I hope it will turn out to be a fun and enjoyable event. To help the games run smoothly, here's some rules and regulations:-
PRIZE AWARD
a. Apart from Terence's generous contribution of $100, all participating couple (less Terence and Ivy) will contribute an additional $10 for the prizes.
b. The top prize (A total value of $90) will be given to the couple with the highest total score.
c. There will also be a prize (Value of $25) for the couple with the most number of consecutive spares.
d. Tokens of $5 will be given to every couple who achieve a score of 180 pinfalls and above in one game.
RULES & REGULATIONS
a. There will be a total of 2 games bowled each team. The gals will bowl first, with the guys doing the spare throw, and the reverse for the second game. There is also a warm up game before the actual event. This warm up game is shared within the couple. (2 person shared one warm up game)
b. In order not to crowd the area and giving space to bowlers, each time round, only 2 teams will be bowling at the same time (if we have one lane only), or 3 teams will be bowling at the same time (if we have two lanes)
c. To avoid distractions and disturbance to any bowlers, NO COACHING or guidance is allowed from the team members once the bowler step onto the bowling platform.
d. Code of Conduct is adherence at all times.

Due to unforseen circumstances, The "couple tag team Tournament" has been postpone to 22/09/02. And the "Pinstrikers Championship has been delayed to the week after next 29/09/02.

p/s Hmm.....BY then, Ah pong will be back, Maybe can ask him to join the Couple tag team tournament with his Girlfriend.......huh huh! -
