I'm beginning to get sick and tired of the Taiwan music scene.
The Chinese pop music scene is replete with new artistes without any true abilities... mostly because the companies in Taiwan are churning them out like nobody's business. And all for one reason, PROFITS.
I have experienced some incidents which really pissed me off...
As most of you know, there's this trend of artistes coming up with several editions of the same album. And a group of fans got so angry, because they had to fork out money [mostly pocket money] to pay for those albums. Yeah, true that it's their freedom whether they want to buy it or not... but the record company's response to the fans' complains were RUDE. UNFEELING. They said in an untactful manner that the fans didn't have to buy the albums if they didn't like it. And that it is only a marketing strategy. Well of course this is true, but they could have put it in a nicer way.
And I just discovered that moderators of the forum of a particular record company delete topics at their free will. If they didn't like the contents of a particular topic, it would be deleted without even replying as to what was wrong with the topic that deserved removal. It's a method pretty underhand, to me. [After all, isn't the Internet an area for free speech?]
The impression that I'm getting is that, these Taiwanese record companies do things that are SOLELY for their BENEFIT and they TOTALLY do NOT care about consumers' interests or whatsoever. To an extreme extent.
Are all record companies like this? It may appear to everyone that my words seem unfair to the record company itself. I don't know... but I'm really pissed at their actions. Perhaps you all need to experience what I went through and you'll understand.
