As for the other thread(s) you have started, I'm sure there will be many others posting on it so the handful of diehard Jieqi fans like us probably will not make an impact. I respectfully leave the decision of where to post to the individual.
Personally, I'm not a forum person and all my life, this is the only thread I visit and upkeep. I created a couple but this is the only one that lasted. My reason for sticking to this thread is simply, friendship. Honestly, I've not heard Jieqi's voice for more than a year because I'm in the States right now. I last saw Shervon and Browniebaobao three (or was it four?) years ago before I flew out. I have absolutely no idea how they look like right now. But one thing I do know is that I value their friendship, and celebrate a shared interest in good music, in particular those Jieqi selects. I've not met the rest of the gang but names like timble, Hajime, Otterized and liyan, just to name a few, are not forgotten. And each time I know about some upheavel in the lives of evonne or Browniebaobao, I never fail to send my prayers. (I'm kinda religious, so....)
I hate to sound chiong-hey, loh soh but perhaps a little history might help you better understand how this thread came about. It was in 2000, as a bored student, when I realize how much I like Jieqi's selection of songs and decided to write to him. To do so, I thought I'd need his email address and errantly created a thread on a forum towards that end. To my surprise, a handful of regulars found resonance in my message and we started this group of Jieqi fans. (The best part is, I never wrote to Jieqi, nor met him, despite the fact that for my industrial attachment, I was in the same building as him!) People start or post to threads for different reasons. Some want to meet cute girls, others are looking for friends. I just wanted to get Jieqi's email address to write him a thank you note. Before I knew it, the thread became some kind of a message board to tell others if Jieqi is on air, or when he'll be on air next. People came and went. (I hope liyan and otterised are doing alright...) Then came Browniebaobao who simply took it upon herself to keep things going. Over time, friendships were formed and we've been able to keep things together for almost eight years now. I never wrote to Jieqi 'cos I later realize no letter I write can better express my thanks than my continued support for his efforts, either by listening to his program or following the thread for him.
Having said thus much, I guess my point is really that a thread that lasts this long is created by the sincerity, or "heart" of dedicated individuals. No one can really create a long-live thread for sure. The best we can do is to start one with sincerity, and with some luck, resonate with others who will in turn pitch in and keep things going.
To conclude, I'd like to share a quotation I recently came across:

This quoation perhaps summed it up the best. We're all here because we cannot forget how all the wonderful songs Jieqi selected and how the friendship we share with those who think the same way, made us feel.

You may have forgotten how Shervon and I look like, but I still remember you. In fact, I think I remember everyone I have met.. I remember the first time u called me, I thought you were Jieqi.. haha. When we finally met, I really felt that you do look a bit like Jieqi. I also can't remember which year le.. only remember it was on National Day..

Talking about recordings, would it be illegal to upload entire recordings of Jieqi's progam in a server somewhere? I think it is illegal as the songs are copyrighted despite being part of a public broadcast. I guess saving them in hard disks and emailing them around is perhaps fine. Thanks for the offer!
