how's the Tan Chang Ren cafe now?i used to patronise it when it's in Bestway Building..is there any entrance charges now?how is it compared to the old one at Bestway?

errm,...wanna ask those who frequently patronize Ai Qin Hai, which combination of singer is the best? because i went on monday, and not really that fanastic....the atomsphere cold cold... Which singer would you recommend? +) -
when i frequent Tan Chang Ren,they used to play rocks on saturdays...unless the band isn't free,then change to something else..sundays are usually for English songs...i really enjoy the saturdays.,though the songs keep repeating every week....
how's the situation at other venues?can i have more infos like charges,performers and operating hours?thanks.. -
Hmmm I've been to Ai Qin Hai before... The singers there had this album called "Replugged" and in it they reproduced some other artistes' songs and included a couple of their own songs. The album's pretty good and worth buying... Always support local productions
And yeah, DREAMZ FM and Cai Lilian, Cai Chun Jia and Cai Lizhang - all very talented people - they sing/used to sing there. I haven't been there for so long so I'm not sure if they still do or not...
I remember there was a time when I went there every Friday to listen to Dreamz FM, they were really really entertaining cos the trio were very funny. Haha

Cai Li Lian still sings there on some days. Dreamz FM no more, they have their personal commitments, mainly job-related. My fave local singer Hong Shao Xuan holds a monthly slot too.
The Replugged album include covers (and some original compositions) sung by Cai Li Lian, Cai Chun Jia, Tang Yu Xuan, Cai Li Zhang, and another guy whom I forgot his name (something Xiong?). Cai Li Zhang's "Feng Le" is my fave track on the album, as well as Yu Xuan's reprise of Valen Hsu's "Zhi Zhuo".
The Strings is no longer in Tanjong Pagar for some years already... -
Lilian is singing in Ai Qing Hai every fri now, with Xianglin and Qisheng. Their slot is a must-go lor..cos they really have a good rapport with one another..u can never get enuff of their suaning skills!!! My favourite pianist is Qisheng lor..he's really great!! Tues slot also not bad with Wenlong and Jiongshun. They used to be in the Sat slot with Weibin but Weibin seldom sings now..she only has one slot for the whole month. There is a Zhongwei singing on Thurs..his voice really powerful!! n on Sun there is Liangchuan, Dingzhu and Liye..their voices are also great!! Heard they used to be from Lao Di Fang..

anyway, i've been to ai qin hai a couple of times when i'm back in singapore.... in fact, i've spent my new year eve there too...
hmm... really like it there... but also bcos one of the singer there managed to capture my heart with his singing... hehehe...
haven't been to any other ming ge can ting as yet... think will try out other places the next time i'm back... most prob tan chang ren... r they still playing rock on sat??
