Dear Friends,
We will be organizing a Christmas dinner on the 15th December for all our members (as well as all your friends!). Remember to keep the evening free! ItÂ’s only 10 pound (buffet!!!) Buy the tickets ASAP because we need to confirm the number of people going by the 9th (so the restaurant will have enough food). ItÂ’s going to be a really fun time and a good opportunity to catch up with all your fellow Singaporeans, there will be a gift exchange as well (so bring a gift and get a gift back!). We look forward to seeing all of you there!

When: 15 December 2002, 8pm (Sunday).
Who: All members of The SSSM and friends! (everyone lah)

How:Tickets will be on sale from 12-2pm
Mondays and Thursdays @ UMIST (Barnes Wallis)
Tuesdays and Fridays @ UoM (Refectory)
Look out for the table with the Singapore flag.
You can also purchase tickets from any committee member.
Do buy tickets soon as we need to confirm the number of people going by 9th December.
Gift Xchange
In line with the Christmas spirit, we will be having a Christmas gift exchange on that day so everyone is strongly encouraged to bring a gift (worth approximately ₤5). Bring a gift and receive a gift!

o'hairy werewolf, its pretty obvious that you have not heard (let alone practice) about 'keeping a promise' (let alone 10 of them).
its not the quality of food i was bitching about. but its the type of food promised by our oh-so-generous comm.
practice what you preach.
and not everyone has the luxury of flying back home to sample local delicacies as often as you (a spoilt brat) might suggest. some ppl had to sell their souls for 10 sterling pounds. -

It's one of their first events and they were decepted by Bar38, It's got nothing to do with 'generosity'.
As for the ten pounds that you had to 'sell your soul' for... That's too bad. It's a hard life, isn't it. Go throw a brick in bar38's window....

did I happen to be the one to give you the promise that the food is good? or am I in the committee?
Considering the 'singapore society' was kind enough to organise such a function for us and spending their time and effort to do it, one should at least be grateful for the effort. Did you see how stressed the president was? did you know they have their troubles too?
Hmmm, perhaps as callous and insensitive as you are, you simply 'expect' to get good stuff everytime you are around.
Ah well, tough life around here.
Maybe you should be the one to organise such a 'buffet' outing next time for us eh?
